Only a couple of weeks back from their Christmas break, and 249 (Hailsham) Squadron where entertaining local dignitary Cllr Ian Haffenden, Mayor of Hailsham, and Wing Chaplain Reverend Canon David Nason from Chichester Cathedral, as Cadets and Staff welcomed Rev John Brook of St Mary’s Parish Church, Hailsham as their new Squadron Chaplain.

Rev John Brook will be responsible for undertaking pastoral care to both the staff and cadets, along with taking an active role in teaching citizenship. Flt Lt Banks, officer commanding 249, said that “we are looking forward to getting John involved in all the exciting activities that the Squadron takes part in, from flying and gliding, adventure training to sport”. Rev John Brook is the curate at St Mary’s Church in Hailsham where he is actively involved in running the Youth Group and has a particular calling to serve the Youth of the area.
