Flt Lt Neil BanksThere has certainly been many changes to the Squadron. 

The biggest of which was the change of command, Flt Lt Richard Munns has now received a position at Sussex Wing as a Wing Staff Officer, covering South and East Sector.  Our new Commanding Officer is Flt Lt Neil Banks

Flt Lt Neil Banks, is no stranger to the Air Cadets, at the age of 13 he joined 304 (Hastings) Squadron, he obtained the rank of Cadet Warrant Officer, before leaving to join the Royal Air Force at the age of 18.

After leaving the RAF, Neil returned to the ATC as a Civilian Instructor at 2262 (Bexhill) Squadron.  In 1995 Neil obtained his Commission and after 4 further years at the Squadron he was recruited to Sussex Wing as a Wing Staff Officer in charge of Adventure Training, he also held responsibility for looking after Squadrons in the South and East Sector.

As well as being our new CO, Neil remains as the Wing Staff Officer for Adventure Training for Sussex Wing.

Married with 2 children, Neil works as a Community Safety Co-ordinator, working with the Wealden District Council and the Police.
