As another new year begins, so does the countdown to the forthcoming Annual 2012 Concert Band Camp, which will run from 11-18 Feb 2012 at Royal Air Force College, Cranwell.Band girl

The camp offers cadet musicians of at least Grade five standard a unique opportunity to work with and learn from the full-time professional musicians of the Band of the RAF College.

This year’s week-long camp includes full band rehearsal sessions and sectional practices with the RAF musicians, as well as some more relaxing activities before finishing with a public concert at RAF Cranwell’s famous Whittle Hall.

Each year cadets gain wide range of additional musical skills from their attendance and often apply to return for a second year.

Despite cadets reapplying for the course, HQAC Music Services is always looking to keep a good mix of new and experienced cadets in the band.

Music is an ever-growing Air Cadet activity and cadets are increasingly being invited to play at some of the UK’s biggest events and landmarks. In recent years the Air Cadet Band has played at high profile locations including Buckingham Palace and Twickenham Rugby ground.

If you are interested in this unique musical experience please contact your Squadron Commander as soon as possible or e-mail Squadron Leader Alan Glover at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.
