Air Cadets Adventure
249 (Hailsham) Squadron Air Cadets and Staff had an exciting and fun time last week, when they travelled to the National Air Cadet Adventure Training Centre in Llanbedr, North Wales. 31 cadets took part in various activities from mountaineering, climbing canoeing, kayaking and caving. Cadet Sean Kellegher, age 15 said “My two favourite activities had to be the Coasteering and the massive zip line, where we jumped off a 150ft cliff in to a freezing cold blue lake”.
The week run by Sqn Ldr Neil Banks and his adventure training team is designed to push cadets to their limits. Sqn Ldr Banks said “to force yourself to do things that your brain is telling you is inherently dangerous and overcoming the fear, is a big challenge”, “It’s not normal to jump of cliffs, swim in freezing cold seas and go underground crawling through small holes, but it’s great fun”.

Adventurous training is just one area of activities that Air Cadets take part in, if you would like to know more, have a look at the rest of our website or make an appointment and come and see for yourselves.
PS for 249 Cadets “you lost the Game” LOL
